COYOTE SONG

Some say the coyote does not belong

In this modern world his natural ways are wrong

It seems that in our ignorance we’ve come to fear his song

Some say they would be happy if the coyote were gone

But I say the coyote has the right

To live his life in freedom and sing his song each night

 If we learn about his ways we can learn to get along

And we’ll never lose the coyote song ~ coyote song

Some say the coyote threatens their way of life

So they’ve called on the government to come and do what’s right

With leg hold traps and cyanide they kill and they maim

But the coyote keeps on doing what comes natural just the same

But I say the coyote has a place

Though he may not seem beneficial to this selfish human race

If we destroy the balance that has survived for so long

We’ll pay the price when the coyote’s gone ~ coyote’s gone

Some say the coyote must be destroyed

He’s treated like an outlaw by those he has annoyed

They say that he’s encroaching on the safety of their home

Even threatening their children when they’re playing all alone

But I say the coyote’s not to blame

He’s curious by nature and survival is his game

Our cities are growing larger using up more land each day

Do we expect him to just fade away ~ just fade away?
